I've updated this website today. This is to reflect a number of changes currently that are occuring in my life:

  • I recently submitted my PhD thesis - and had my viva yesterday (more below).

  • I am changing (clinical) jobs - from March 2015, I am working on the Neonatal Transport Service based at the Royal London Hospital.

The two examiners for my PhD viva were:

We had a very good discussion, primarily about the first two (of three) parts of my thesis. These were about data linkage (performed between Hospital Episode Statistics and data from the EPICure studies) and obstetric interventions (the effects of administration of steroids, use of tocolysis, and Caesarean section on delivery room outcomes), with much less discussion about the third part which was on trends in staffing and throughput in English neonatal units over time.
